MY MULTILINGUAL STORY

I was born and raised bilingually in Welsh and English in Carmarthenshire, West Wales, a stronghold of the Welsh language.  From a very young age, I had an unending curiosity and fascination for languages and culture.  Being able to switch back and forth between such diverse language systems intrigued me and I was keen to add more to my repertoire.

Fast forward two decades, and:

  • I now speak 5 languages,
  • hold a BA degree in Spanish, German and Italian,
  • an MA degree in Translation (Spanish and German),
  • a PGCE teaching qualification in European Languages (11-18 years),
  • CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching for Adults)

and have also gained an Italian husband along the way!

This academic training has equipped me with the necessary skills to produce accurate, thorough and top-quality translations with great attention to detail.

Having studied and lived in Spanish and German-speaking countries for significant periods of time has helped me understand the culture and language variations of those countries. For this reason, my translations are meaningful and faithful to the original message, whilst being sensitive to any cultural differences.

MY PROMISE TO YOU

I will work closely with you to ensure that each element of the translation is exactly how you want it to be.  After all, translating is not about replacing one word with another.  It is about accurately conveying in another language what is in the original, to the point where you cannot tell which one is the translated version.
